Is there a way to give the team a rebound and not credit a player? A team rebound

We do not currently have a way to track team rebounds. Our understanding is that team rebounds are really a technicality and not statistically helpful since they do not tell anything about the team being given the rebound.

Is there a way that you are using the team rebounds where tracking them becomes important? If so, we can add this to our enhancement list for a future update.

In what scenario would a team rebound be preferred over an individual rebound? If it is tipped from the forward and "rebounded" by the guard on the tip, it would seem to me the latitude for the scorer to pick who should receive the stat would be the preferred way to go. Unless I am misunderstanding what a team rebound is.

There are a few examples, but the rule says that ANY missed shot has to result in a rebound. So if there is a missed shot that bounces off the rim and goes out of bounds, the defensive team technically gets a team rebound. But as noted above, our understanding is it is really a technicality, and not a useful statistic to track.

Actually, it's a very valuable statistic because it helps balance the team stats. Every missed shot results in a rebound so misses must equal rebounds. To that end there are also deadball rebounds (on missed free throws) that should also be tracked.
