Re: Adding New Players For Teams

This probably belongs in "Issues", but I think I know what he's talking about. If I'm in a team's Roster and I press "Add" to add a new player, the Player List comes up.' Then, if I press Add again to create a completely new player, the first name field is automatically populated with the name "Abby...

Re: error or hit

Bill James talks quite a bit about the misuse of fielding error stats because it requires the athlete to recognize the play off the bat and get in position to make an error. A poor fielder might not have even gotten into position to make the error. Baseball analysts used to talk all the time about ...

Re: failed double play...to charge an error or not?

thanks. i'll await what others have to say. ultimately if that runner comes around to score, would the pitcher be charged with an earned run? a similar scenario occurs when a foul pop is dropped. in that case the fielder DOES get charged with an error and if the batter ultimately gets on base and s...

Re: Sac Fly Question - rules

Its the way these rules are written, you need to be an english major to understand them sometimes. Sheesh! Hey, a good justification for rigorous English classes in high school! Student: why do we need to study all these grammar rules and vocabulary? Teacher: so when you're grown, and have kids in ...

multiple errors on one play

I have Adv Scoring ON runner at 1st (R) batter (B) bunts, pitcher fields and throws the ball over 1B's head R would have been safe at 2B, B would have been out instead, R goes to 3rd and stops, B goes to 2nd and stops then, the RF on the backup tried to get B going to 2nd (or maybe she was just thro...

verify scoring on Runner's Interference, Runner hit by ball

So, it turns out scrimmage games are good for the scorekeeper too . . . For this I was using Android version on a Samsung Galaxy Tab with Advanced Scorekeeping turned on Situation 1 (I'm pretty sure I did this one wrong) bases loaded, 1 out batter hits a grounder to SS and runner from 2nd runs into ...

Re: fielder's choice? need second opinion(s)

Thanks for the quick response. I remember, now, why I was so sure I had it right. Just like your example, I was scoring a game last fall where a batter hit a smokin' line drive to CF with a runner on first. It got to the CF so fast, she was able to field it one one hop and throw to 2nd for the force...

fielder's choice? need second opinion(s)

Girls fastpitch softball Runner on first base batter hits a popup to no-man's land behind 2nd base 2nd, rf, and cf converge, but no one catches the ball since runner on 1st thought someone would catch the popup, she stays close to first ball hits the ground - no obvious error, but 2nd baseman picks ...

can you add the G (games) column to HTML stats in email

When you look at Team Stats on the device, the G (games) column is the first column in all three displays: Batting, Pitching, and Fielding. When you email the stats, the HTML version of the stats in the body of the mail message only includes the G column in the Pitching stats. Same thing for the XLS...

Re: when to score an error on throw on SB attempt

Wow - quick response.

OK, so I have some fixing to do in the post game stats for a game.
In addition to the assist, does the catcher also get credit for the CS? (Would make sense, since the runner is getting charged with a CS in her stats, and not getting credit for an SB.)
