But could the outfielder have gotten the runner at 1st? How can it be a fielder's choice if the outfielder couldn't have gotten the batter in the first place?
Seems to me it's a hit... The runner from first to second was a casualty of the hit.

Re: Error or Fielder's Choice?
It's not a fielder's choice at all. Fielder's choice would mean the Center Fielder could have thrown him out at first, but decided to throw it to 3rd. It's either an error or a hit. I've never heard of it not being an error because an advancing runner is put out. That seems odd. If the batter got on...

Re: Scoreboard Control
I've wished there was like a two foot LED board that could be wifi linked with box score to take to games, battery operated and hang on the fence. Someone invent that! Speaking for all storekeepers of the world I'd love to stop getting asked what the score is....

Re: Game timer START button
By Official Baseball Rules, the definition of "Play" is the umpire's order to start the game (or resume action following any dead ball). With that definition official time can not be before that. With that being said, a league may have their own definition of start time but that would be contrary t...

Re: Game timer START button
Game time always starts during the meeting when the coaches and ump agree on a time. Has nothing to do with play ball. Lots of times the game has already ticked away 5 minutes before first pitch.

Re: Game timer START button
I have the same issue with the game timer. I have to stare at them and read lips and hope to get the teams correct and play pushed. I usually end up starting it right when the umps start and then I have a 50/50 of having home/away correct. I usually just ask the ump an inning or two in what time the...

Re: Catcher Data
Except right now unless a runner runs, there is no wild pitch or passed ball. It's just a ball. But that would be nice to have other types of balls.

Re: Catcher Data
Do you subtract wild pitches and passed balls.
