Dropped fly ball

Ok, runner on first, no one out. Batter hits ball to short center field. For some reason or another 2b thinks he can handle it. CF calls him off at the last second. CF drops ball. Runner is in a quandry. He's going to get out someway or another. Either force at second or forced out at first if ball ...

Re: Interference ruling

IMHO this has the makings of a bad call all around. Where did the runner slide? If intentionally out of the baseline, that is one issue, but sliding directly into the bag that's another. So what is the runner to do? Stop about 10 feet from the bag and stand there? C'mon on. This is not dance class. ...

Re: NY Times: Who Scores By Hand Anymore

I read the article as well. I agree that the emphasis was upon the art of scoring with a special focus on paper. I do both at a game as a spectator. My biggest problem with electronic versions is that if I have to take a potty break, I get lost and can't score the rest of the game well. So I use pap...

Re: Runner knocks the SS

I shall let others determine what the rules are here, but I hope this SS learns not to block the base path without the ball in his/her glove. There are plenty of ways to make that play without standing on the bag. (I assume this would have been a force out and not requiring a tag.) Otherwise they wi...

Re: second opinion

If runner ends up at 2nd or 3rd yes. If stays at 1st no error. Final decision is at the discretion of the scorekeeper.

Re: error or hit

I see a similar thing in A+ California League baseball. I have seen hits given when if it had been at the MLB level it most likely would have been scored an error.

Re: Default to Fly Ball

I too want to thank iScore for their responses to users. I do think my request for default to "fly ball" is now relatively redundant with the new options under Quick outs. With the fly ball option given for each of the outfielders the "popup" would be the norm for the infielders.
