Outgoing Pitcher to DH

Is there a way to make the outgoing pitcher the DH when there was previously no DH? I’ve searched the forum and can’t find this directly answered and I thought I remembered a feature where iScore asked if you wanted to exercise that option for the starting pitcher. I don’t see it now and I suspect t...

Re: New Softball Season

Great suggestion OhioTex. I’ve been scoring for a number of years now and that’s exactly how I have landed on doing the seasons year-to-year. One additional suggestion I would make, since you’re scoring HS is to create multiple leagues for each year, e.g., 2018 District, 2018 Non-District, 2019 Play...

Re: Ball out of play

CJoe, you are correct, it is 2 bases awarded for a throw OOB. Those bases are determined based either on when the ball was pitched or when thrown by the fielder. MLB Rule 7.05.g states: Each runner including the batter-runner may, without liability to be put out, advance— Two bases when, with no spe...

Re: Base hit or FC

I actually saw a similar play last week watching NCAA baseball. There was a runner on third and the batter laid down a bunt. The 3rd baseman, instead of trying to get the runner at 1st, which he almost certainly could, tried to get the runner going home. Runner was called safe and batter credited wi...

Re: New to Iscore

Welcome to the board, Patacc! You'll definitely want to read the posts pinned to the top of the FAQ forum and watch the training videos. Once you've done that, start practicing to get familiar with the app. Undoubtedly, you will still come across questions that you can't answer. For those, you can g...

Re: Scoring assist and putout combinations

The 2nd most importatnt point of the whole thread is that a DP (or TP) somehow must be credited to the fielders, but not charged to the batter in these scenarios. So, the "wizard" would have to recognize that that it is not a force/reverse force DP and score the stats accordingly.

Re: Scoring assist and putout combinations

OhioTex, should this thread be moved to the "Issue Reporting" forum to get more FTM attention? I haven't seen any aknowledgement from them on this forum.

Re: Scoring assist and putout combinations

It looks like there is a bit of a problem with iScore's ability to differentiate between a force/reverse force DP and one that is not. On the former, it counts on the batter stats and the outs are generally recorded by the last 2 positions to touch ball. On the latter, what I’ll call a “defensive do...

Re: Scoring assist and putout combinations

OK, I think I may have found the subtle answer to my own question: For the batter runner, the scorer keeps track of forced DP's and reverse DP's only. However, for the fielder, the scorer keeps track of ALL DP's base on the definition of rule 10.11. So, it appears that iScore is not scoring this sce...

Re: Scoring assist and putout combinations

Sorry, Aimee, I didn't look closely enough to see exactly who the PO's and Assists were credited to. OhioTex, I see that entering the scoring the way you describe correctly attributes the PO's and Assists to the correct positions, but not scoring it a double play seems at odds with the following rul...
