Re: Sacrifice Bunt Safe - Definition

OK...I'm getting myself a bit confused and I want to clarify. Let me know if I got this wrong: Score a: Sacrifice Bunt - when batter advances a preceding runner safely to another base (and less than two outs) and defensive player puts batter out at first. Sacrifice Bunt Safe - when a batter advances...

Re: Sacrifice Bunt Safe - Definition

Thanks guys.that's pretty clear.

So...if the batter bunts and still beats the throw to first (let's say the fielder hesitated a second to hold the runner), then th batter is credited a hit. Correct?

Sacrifice Bunt Safe - Definition

Hello all, I had a coach/parent discussion about a particular sac bunt that was safe. I'm trying to find the rule on this. His eventual contention is that there is no such thing as a sac bunt safe. That if the batter is safe, it is ruled a hit (with the exception of an Error or FC). Can someone dire...

Weird issue...phantom #10 batter after mistake

Ok...so I messed up the staring lineup by forgetting to set a 10th batter to "No" for batting prior to game start. No big issue...I've done it before! Unfortunately, I didn't catch it until that player position had already batted and was on base. When I discovered the error, I went to Misc. - starti...

Advice - moving up to High School Softball

As an experienced scorer (probably close to 300 games), I've been volunteered to score for my daughters High School Softball team (still don't know if its going to be JV or Varsity). Can any of you give me any advice on what to watch and expect that is different than Middle School or travel ball? Ju...

Re: Another strange double play

Similar question. Who gets credit for the double play? In our situation, girl on 1st, 1 out. Hard grounder to second, player tags out runner from first, then throws out batter at first. If I do what you suggest (ground out 4-3, then double play), doesn't first base then get the credit for the defens...

What is the record online followers?

I'm really curious what is the most number of live, online followers anybody has ever had following a game in iScore? Yesterday, in our Girls Fast Pitch ASA 12U Western National semi-final match in Clovis, California, we had 48 followers! From as far as New York and even Canada. Some said we had 60 ...

Re: Earned Run on Wild Pitch

Wow - thanks for the quick reply guys. I had the first one figured out pretty well. But the second score is where I messed up and wanted to get your feedback. To go back to how she got on base (see above) she was walked by original pitcher. There were no outs and the pitcher had already given up a s...

Earned Run on Wild Pitch

In this weekend's state softball tournament, our 12U girls had a tough draw. In the first game we played another district champion (we won our district also) and it was a dragged out battle. I'm having a hard time explaining to the pitcher's dad how the scoring worked out against his daughter and I ...
